Aoife Belle

Red with a red nose - a gorgeous girl! from Richmond VA

My American Pit Bull Terrier, Aoife (ee-feh), has been with my family for 2 1/2 years. She came to us as a foster dog and I adopted her. She was picked up by animal control in a rural VA county for "dog at large". She had been picked up several times previously but this time, her caregivers decided not to bail her out of doggie jail. She had mange, was emaciated, intact, and had recently had puppies. She was so solid in temperament that, even though the animal control facility was overwhelmed with dogs, lots of them pit bulls, they held on to her for 6 months until my home opened up for a new foster dog through the rescue where I volunteered. Aoife (Celtic name that mean radiant beauty. In Irish history, Aoife was an auburn-haired warrior with a heart of gold.) Aoife is obedience trained, AKC CGC certified, and is training in off-lead in agility. She is my constant companion, and I am grateful every day that I have her in my life.
