Red

7yr pit-mix from the Trenton Animal Shelter from Somerset, NJ

We met Red 6 yrs ago in 2002. We had been living in China for a year and were determined to get a dog once we returned to the US. We visited several shelters and met several dogs. Red seemed very quiet and sweet, and although we didn't know much about pit bulls we decided he was the one for us. So, we adopted Red from the Trenton Animal Shelter and had him in NJ for about 1 week before moving to Madison, WI and more recently, back to NJ. We've had a wonderful life with Red and hope for several more terrific years. He has proven to be the most sensitive and loving dog. He always wants to be the one in the middle and often doesn't eat until the whole family is together -- he really has transformed my husband and I from being a couple into being a family. Most notably, he was the ring bearer at our wedding! He is incredibly willing to please and easy to train, so we've had a lot of fun going to obedience classes. We even are a certified pet team through the Delta Society and for 3 yrs while in WI, visited patients at a local hospital. Everyone who meets Red falls in love with him and we're really not surprised!
