Cinnamon

Red haired beauty who steals hearts as well as cookies, candy, toys, balls, etc. from Upstate NY

In October of 2003 I lost my husband of 20 years. It was a tough road, especially for my kids. My son was a freshman at college. Besides being away from home for the first time, he was also dealing with the loss of his father. My daughter Taylor was a month shy of her 7th birthday. With my son away, we went from being a family of four to just Taylor and I in the house. It was a big adjustment. Later that month I ran into a friend who said he had a puppy that needed a home. When I heard "pit bull" I told him I wasn't interested. But then I looked at her. The sweetest little face I ever saw looked back at me. This little 12 week old puppy with a red nose and green eyes stole my heart. I got online and researched the breed. What I realized was I really didn't know anything about this breed except for what I've heard in the media. I decided to take a chance on her and oh boy am I glad I did. Cinnamon has been the spark that brought life back to our family. Her silly little puppy antics while she was growing up kept us laughing and in love! Each of us found comfort in Cinni. She galloped through the house and did her little spins in the living room. At night, when my daughter would fall asleep Cinnamon would lie next to me on the couch with her head in my lap. Anyone who owns a pit knows that loyalty comes natural to them. In the past 5 years with Cinnamon in our family I have become an ambassador of the breed. I tirelessly sing their praises to anyone who will listen. I walk Cinnamon proudly through our town inviting people to stop and say hello to her so they can see what a wonderful girl she is. And I pray that BSL and breed prejudice will end. I will do anything in my power to show people what an amazing dog the American Pit Bull Terrier is.
